lyrics make cheap titles

::dave greets you warmly::

hows goes it? things are going well down here in the land of 80 degree temperatures. its a friday night and i am going to stay up waaay too late
why may you ask? because the man can’t keep me down
thats why

i havent been feeling well the last two weeks, my stomach continues to try and kill me. while i have been doing ok the last two todays there is still a lot of uncertainty in the mornings and i pray that tomorrow morning i can do a two hour show without interruption. i did a good job on audio last week, but that doesnt mean i wasnt getting up every 10 minutes.
but with just enough sleep and pepto bisbol in hand i think i’ll be just fine.

i’ve started texting, its something that i sort of missed the band wagon on, and thats ok. its an odd, mostly primitive type of communication. i always like it when i read an article about how the brittany spears generation thinks that email is for old people. and while IM is easy to hate, texting i feel i can respect. it really is a quicker way of having a short conversation with someone.
my fingers arnt yet as fast as my thoughts, but i like the disjointed, fragmented style. its fun to send off something and then wait 45 seconds to see what someone says back.
there is a suspense to it :D

my station did its first newscast in HD last night. and while there were some snafus it went quite well. i really didnt think that our station could do the conversion in the little time that we allowed ourselves. the set looks incredible on camera, its a very impressive design. the new graphics are also very snazy.

the first production class i’ve had at collins wrapped up on thursday. and while i really didnt like the fact that we had a lot of projects in a short ammount of time, my prophesor liked my work…
and i got an A, which very few people do from him
i’ll post some stuff me and my group shot later this week

im off to do a little socializing…
maybe some mobile posts this weekend

music should be free

well, its been a good week so far. i’ve woken up late 3 days in a row :D

but thats ok, i got to work on sunday right before our morning newscast, didnt have class yesterday and missed nothing in my class this morning. so while i things have been sketch in that department everything else seems to be going well.

im totally on my own at work now, which is great. because i get to get things done on my terms. i had some great training but you end up doing things just like your trainer wants you too, and thats not always the most convenient or logical way.

my group spent most of the class time today working on a concept for our second commercial and after spending a lot of time and effort on a storyboard we quickly wrote a short concept and handed it our professor for his approval. he smiled and said it was weak and that we should redo it.
i have confidence in my skills as a writer, i’ve never had problems with that, but we did kinda phone it in. our story boards were awesome and while it didnt look good on paper our concept is clever and is definitely within our reach production wise.
i swear the only reason he made it do over is because he knows our group has talent. which is nice that he recognizes it, i just kinda wished he expected out of us what he expects out of certain other people in the class :p or for that matter vice versa

i’ve been buying music again, which is lame because as far as spending money goes in pretty much done for the rest of my life. i bought my tv and ended up buying a dvd player and now its time to take care of some business. my dad has yet to remind me about car insurance but i know i owe him for that, and i still need to pay the taxes on the money i was given for my car. its all budgeted out so that im not in any sort of trouble, its just a matter of sticking to what i’ve planned.
back to the music though, i bought a few albums off itunes which surprisingly i’ve never done before (DRM is a product of the man) and a few others off of emusic.com. my favorite site looks to be getting the axe though, russian allofmp3.com will probably not be around much longer, their site is 404 today and visa cut them off last week.
only technically legal in russia ftl

but jeannie left some great musical advise on facebook and im trying out some new stuff.
for those who dont know my site is available through the black magic of RSS, my facebook page picks it up and for some reason lets people comment there. which is neato for facebook people yet lame for most because those comments dont show up here at davidloveslife.com

until the next time i feel like posting

the great salt lake

in between a radio station i really like, i’ve been devouring band of horses’ album. while its nice to have a radio station here that i actually do like, i really dont listen to enough new music these days.

which is a problem, more and more i am being able to retain different things i see and experience as inspiration for my own creative doings. it may sound a little lame. but taking note of the media around me has really helped me be more creative.
at bsu and in high school i would spend days just trying to come up with a plot for a small movie or a design for a graphic. but so far i have had more ideas than i know what to do with around here.
if i can watch a good commercial or read an article i like and then make a note of what i liked and why i liked it i really do think that, that will help me to continue to have solid ideas. now if i can just force myself to make more than a mental note of it :D
im watching and reading more critically these days but my listening has been stagnant, which is a problem because new music means $$.

all is quiet on the western front for me, school is going well. i am shooting a commercial tonight and i have high hopes for the footage. we have to have two commercials and an interview for this feild production class im in. and while i am mad that we were expected to do this one in just a few days, we are in groups which makes the production value a lot higher.
work is going well, i will be completely done with training as of next week and i am excited to be able to do my shifts completely on my terms. they also gave me all my days off this week, which is great. i only got two of them last week and none the week before because we are so understaffed.
….the overtime made a big impact on my check though.

my dad came and visited me a few weeks back, which was good fun. we went to the grand canyon, which, if you havnt been, is a magnificent hole in the ground. we also took in a coyote’s game and ate some good food. and while i was prepared for at least a few meals he didnt expect me to cook… which is all for the better, we ate pretty good.

wow came back to me this week, i got my mage from 56 on thursday to 59 yesterday (thats quite a bit.) its nice to interact with luke again, and im looking forward to having a lvl’d mage.

im out for now, there are a few new videos in the video’s section if you havent seen them and there are now photos from the grand canyon under the photos tab
ds out
