His Name Was…

A 48 hour film festival entry with the theme “miscalculation.” Shot in 720p on an HVX-200 with an SGpro DOF adapter for some shots. The story might be a little hard to get, but then again we did change it 8 hours after shooting. This was one of the best 48 film fest experiences I’ve had, we had a very talented team of people.

Snail Job

Jeannie doesn’t like it when I show this to people, so why not put it on the Internet. Snail Job was probably the best thing I did at Boise State. Not because it’s some sort of masterpiece, just because I really think it has a great cinematic feel to it. It was shot in a VERY simplistic mannor, yet looks better than some of the stuff I did in my first year at Collins. The only surviving copy was on S-VHS so the video qualty isn’t so great.

Pursuit

Made for the 2008 Fuse 72 hour film festival, there was a lot of drama in our group but in the end we chose a simple concept and had fun shooting it. We shot downtown, in sequential order in about six hours. I spent about as much time on color correction as I did on the edit, the last few shots were very dark.

Unintelligent Life-Forms

Aliens, bad jokes, easy cheese and a reference to 300… what more could you ask for? This was made for a 48 hour film fest, and for the time allotted turned out pretty good. It was written in about 2 hours and shot in 5. I had never gotten humor as a genre before, and I hope I don’t ever again.

Animus

I’ll be honest, I have no idea what is going on with this one. Animus was made for a 48 hour film fest, and did not turn out as we hoped. We had a good concept on friday but by sunday we had made so many changes while shooting that it just didn’t edit together. This is exactly how it was when we turned it in. It doesn’t make a lot of sense but some of the shots do look good, it was shot with a 35mm DOF adapter.
